RSM90: Risen’s all-black HJT rooftop module, backed by a 40-year warranty
The RSM90 brings heterojunction cells to Australian and New Zealand rooftops at up to 500 W and 23.5% efficiency, in an all-black module with a 40-year product and 40-year power warranty.
Risen’s heterojunction (HJT) cell technology now comes in a module made for the home roof. The RSM90-8-460-500HDGB delivers up to 500 Wp and 23.5% efficiency in an all-black design, and on Australian and New Zealand rooftops it carries a 40-year product warranty and a 40-year linear power warranty.
Risen’s HJT technology also powers its large-format Hyper-ion modules for utility and commercial projects. The RSM90 puts it into a residential format, aimed at getting more output from limited roof space.
All-black, by design
The RSM90 pairs black cells and encapsulation with a black anodised frame, so the array reads as a single dark surface rather than a grid of silver lines. Risen designed it for premium homes and architecturally minded roofs, where the look of the system matters as much as its output.
More power from a limited roof
Each module carries 90 HJT cells in a 1952 × 1090 × 30 mm, 24 kg format, rated from 460 to 500 Wp. It is a bifacial dual-glass module with a bifacial factor of 90 ± 5%, and its −0.24%/°C power temperature coefficient means it loses less output as panels heat up on a summer roof — a useful trait in Australian conditions.
HJT cells also respond well to low light. Their symmetrical passivation and high open-circuit voltage (Voc) help the RSM90 keep generating on overcast days and in the early morning and late afternoon.
Low degradation, long warranty
The RSM90’s power warranty allows 1% degradation in the first year and 0.3% a year after that, which still guarantees 87.3% of rated power at year 40.
Its 40-year cover is built in two stages:
- Product warranty: 25 years, plus a 15-year free extension
- Linear power warranty: 30 years, plus a 10-year free extension
